Lead High-Impact Back-end Projects and Mentor Developers in a Scalable Tech Environment
El Salvador based (Work from Anywhere) | 100% Remote | Professional Services Contract | Immediate Start

A fast-growing Salvadoran tech consultancy is leading digital transformation across Central America. We build scalable, high-performance solutions in agile squads for industries like e-commerce, logistics, and fintech. As Lead Software Engineer, you’ll report directly to the CTO, drive backend execution, mentor developers, and shape the technical direction of multiple projects. You will lead architectural design, enforce best practices, and ensure the team delivers secure, efficient, and reliable software.

What you’ll do:
• Lead the design and development of RESTful APIs using NestJS and TypeScript, applying SOLID principles and clean architecture.
• Architect and coordinate the implementation of microservices with a focus on performance, scalability, and security.
• Guide junior and mid-level developers through code reviews, technical decisions, and day-to-day problem-solving.
• Oversee deployments on Linux and Windows servers using Docker, PM2, Nginx, IIS, and custom automation scripts.
• Optimize database performance in SQL Server (queries, procedures, indexing).
• Collaborate with the CTO on architecture blueprints and technical standards.
• Partner with DevOps to streamline CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
• Document key solutions and promote continuous improvements in performance, security, and team productivity.

What we’re looking for:
• 4+ years of experience in backend development with NestJS and TypeScript.
• Solid experience leading software teams or mentoring developers in a tech environment.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, API design patterns, and event-driven architecture (pub/sub).
• Advanced command of SQL Server and database performance optimization.
• Server-side experience in Linux/Windows environments, including logs and configurations.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills — you’re able to lead without ego and build trust.
• Advanced English for technical communication, meetings, and documentation.
