SUMMARY: Process the information of the import and export documentation within the established deadlines and under the regulatory requirements.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Receive, reconcile, consolidate and summarize documents and customer information, may be required. Coordinate cargo movements with the intermodal, equipment and traffic departments. Interpret, review and apply appropriate rates to bills of lading in time and in an appropriate manner, making sure to apply with the rules and regulations. Verify customs documents, food and medicines to release cargo from the port.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business, logistics or related area; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years in the Transportation area with specific knowledge of diverse or operational service requirements and in coordination of import and export of transatlantic shipments.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Microsoft Office.
COMPETENCIES: Ability to prioritize, organize and develop multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective labor relations, to work as a team.
OTHER: Intermediate English. Knowledge of customs laws and regulations. Expert in bill of lading.
