A Finance Operations Clerk is responsible for insuring the accuracy and authenticity of accounting entries posted to our agent accounts. Primarily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: processing payments, issuing refunds, communicating with customers and banks, reconciling bank statements, researching and resolving banking issues and analyzing accounts. This team member will also be required to assist with special projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Verify that all agent payments have been applied correctly.
• Research deposits reported by banks with no agent information. This task includes weekly and monthly reports.
• Analyze and post the returned items and adjustments received from the bank.
• Collect and provide appropriate documentation to banks in order to support claims for corrections or research of adjustments.
• Apply payments from collections, check cashing and other departments.
• Generate daily ACH files for the purpose of collecting funds due from agents
• Assist with month end reconciliation and closing procedures
• Create reports with basic formulas in Excel.
• Interact with customers and coworkers by email or telephone in order to resolve any concerns regarding accounting or banking issues.
• Coordinate payment and commission method changes for agents.
• Review and process daily wire transactions.
• Collect ACH returns.
• Processing refunds, this includes verifying the accuracy of the refund before being processed.
• Understand the multiple procedural requirements that vary between banks.
• Maintain a high level of discretion when dealing with financial transactions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
• Minimum AA degree in Accounting.
• Will consider previous work experience in lieu of formal education.
Knowledge/Skills
• General knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and accounting principles

Work Experience
• 3 – 5 Years’ experience in an accounting and/or bookkeeping position.
• Prior experience with a money transfer company or bank a plus.
