GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible for administering all facets in the Setup Freight Services area. This includes and is not limited to the following: Planning, coordinating, monitoring, controlling, and supporting the different processes within the set up process. Ensure compliance with Customs and Census regulations in conjunction with vessel/barges and operation schedules and deadlines, ensuring complete documentation is received timely for each trade as needed. Coordinates meetings between Freight Services and traffic, equipment control, intermodal and terminal operations to resolve issues and maintain effective communication to ensure needs are met. Ensures process(es) are timely and accurately performed in conformance with established requirements to ensure customer satisfaction. May monitor telephone calls and customer feedback ensuring quality and efficient handling. Participates in any required analysis towards ensuring compliance with established key measures. Develops and recommends changes to procedures and work processes to maximize efficiency and productivity ensuring continuous improvement. Ensures compliance with company policies. Works closely with direct reports promoting work group organization and develops teams’ approach to problem solving. Promotes open lines of communication with team and other disciplines to ensure smooth handling of day to day activities. Remains knowledgeable in the Common Carrier, Customs and Census policies, guidelines and ensures proper training is provided to the users as required. Supports the performance appraisal process by effectively reporting employee development. Performs other duties as requested.

EXPERIENCE:

Entry level would require minimum 2 years in a lead or Sr. Specialist position.

COMPETENCIES:

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to coach, train and direct the activities of others. Bilingual is required (english/spanish). Must possess skill sets and demonstrate proven experience using good judgement in developing, improving and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objectives. Demonstrate competencies for customer service, highly committed, responsible, teamwork, change management, continuous process improvement, team development. Associates degree or job-related formal training after high school.

All Crowley positions require proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word. Some positions may also include proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
