GENERAL DESCRIPTION
In an ongoing capacity, Employee Relations Specialists act as a liaison between employer and employee, overseeing employee relations. This involves receiving and effectively handling employee complaints, escalating these complaints to the level of disciplinary or legal action when necessary, updating employees with any changes in company policy, advising supervisors on treatment of staff and company policies, responds to employee violations of policy and generally helps to resolve conflict in the workplace.
JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists in management and resolution of employee relations issues.
• Manages Employee Relations cases by providing associate and leader coaching and counseling while ensuring consistent application and interpretation of company policies, practices and procedures.
• Facilitates the open-door process and investigate work place concerns.
• Provides support to senior employee relations staff to conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
• Reduces legal risk and ensures regulatory compliance related to day-to-day management of employees by partnering with senior employee relations staff and the legal department when appropriate.
• Provides support and guidance to supervisors regarding day-to-day people-related matters.
• Reviews policies and procedures and makes recommendations to ensure compliance with local laws.
• Assists in development and implementation training for supervisors on employee relations matters.
• Partners with senior employee relations staff to facilitate investigations, documentation of findings and outline of next steps.
• Provide the necessary attention and problem solving to the personnel´s inquires received in HR office.
• Support the logistics of recreational activities carried out in the company.
• Appropriate confidentiality in dealing with company and employee information
• Ability to analyze data to create & present reports; performs other related duties as assigned and required
• Understanding and knowledge of the following: Workers Compensation Administration, ADA and FMLA Administration
• Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment
• Being an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
• The ability to be comfortable with high volume workload and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves"
• A strong solution focus and be comfortable working in an environment which demands strong deliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions
• The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously - orientated on results
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology or a related field or equivalent work experience
