Development and Design Specialist

World Vision is seeking a Development and Design Specialist to join our Grants Acquisition Management team .

The Development and Design Specialist will be responsible to lead proposal-development teams that may include internal as well as external members, and draft all or sections of high-quality proposals for institutional and private donors. Also will be supporting our national office in positioning and identifying new opportunities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

? Submit high-quality proposals
? Prepare grant synopsis and participate (by request) in the meetings of World Vision’s Global Offices/National Offices, with the Grant’s Committee.
? Lead the design process including the design team.
? Ensure proper coordination with other internal areas, partners or support offices in the preparation of high quality proposals..
? Draft all or parts of proposals
? Ensure the official submission of the proposals, taking in consideration the rules and regulation of the different donors.
? To monitor the process of approval of the proposal and signing of agreement.
? Coordinate the transition of the project to the area of Operations.
? Conduct regular meetings with specialists from World Vision's other National Offices to assess proposals to the donor agencies and private donors, which are aligned with the National Strategy.
? Support World Vision's National Office (El Salvador) positioning & donor engagement
? Provide inputs for the design of the Grants Acquisition Management Strategy,
? Meet with donors & partners when required to support organizational positioning
? Obtain donor intelligence in support of proposal development
? Regularly identify funding opportunities with international cooperation agencies and / or government to contribute to the national strategy.
? Support to the technical specialists in identify and establish relations with donors and coordination round tables.
? Support World Vision El Salvador's National Office proposal-development capacity-building processes
? Support on-the-job proposal-development training for the technical team, other operational & support unit staff
? Collaborate with the liason officer and key personnel of the Department of Operations for planning visits from private donors or international cooperation agencies.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.


Education:
? Degree in development studies, economics, business administration, sociology, anthropology, international relations, or any other relevant field of social science.
? Master’s level degree (is prefered) in a relevant field of studies.

Work Experience:
? 5 years experience in leading grants proposal designs and submitting high quality proposals.

? Experience with Budgeting & financial tracking/reporting
? Deep knowledge of USAID reporting and proposal requirements.
Skills and Knowledge:
? Excellent written and oral communication skill in English is required.
? Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet (preferably Microsoft Word and Excel), and presentation software (Microsoft PowerPoint).
? Updated knowledge of ODA donor landscape & trends.
? Development theory & practice.
? Proposal development skills.
? Deeply identified and committed to World Vision’s Christian vision, mission and values.
