FINANCE OFFICER

World Vision is seeking a Finance Officer for a Strengthening Institutional Responses for Juvenile Justice and Restoration in El Salvador Project, USAID funded.

Job Summary: The Finance Officer is responsible for financial oversight by providing financial administrative support to staff, ensuring compliance and implementation of internal controls and policies, and ensure that USAID’s regulations and requirements are met.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will maintain the filing of all financial and accounting documents, files, and correspondence.
Support the Finance Manager with compiling the documentation for the monthly financial reports in accordance with USAID procedures and policies to be forwarded for final review to the Finance Manager.
Assists with recording expenditures, income, and any other related transactions, in the Abt site office financial tracking/recording program.
Support the Finance and Administrative Manager to ensure the books of accounts are up to date at all times, orderly, well kept, and readily available for reference and audit, when required.
Support the Finance and Administrative Manager with drafting official project correspondence and composing routine correspondence to vendors, bank, partners, etc.
Assist the Finance and Administrative in the handling payments at events/workshops, trainings, and other activities.
Support the Finance and Administrative Manager in compiling estimates for the monthly cash projections for review by the Finance Manager.
Assists the Finance and Administrative Manager in the implementation of the internal control system and financial procedures manual of the company.
Provide any other support to the Finance and Administrative Manager as need arises.
Experience with managing administrative management of small grants preferably under USAID regulations.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the USAID Finance Officer job opportunity must hold a Diploma in Accounts or Business Administration (minimum) or Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting or its equivalent.
A minimum of three years of professional experience in providing accounting, bookkeeping, or administration assistance.
Previous experience with accounting software is an added advantage.
Excellent computer skills including in depth knowledge and experience with Excel.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and excellent organization skills.
Experience with USAID or other donor funded project
English language proficiency is required.
