About the Role
The Payment/Wire Control Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and validating wire and payment transactions processed by Ria agents across multiple banking platforms. This role ensures that all payment activities meet internal controls, operational standards, and regulatory requirements. The analyst will also be responsible for generating reports, identifying risks, and partnering with internal teams to drive process improvements. Over time, this position is expected to play a key role in identifying automation and digitalization opportunities within the payment control workflow.

Key Responsibilities
• Review, verify, and track incoming wire and payment transactions across multiple banking platforms.

• Ensure all payment instructions and supporting information adhere to internal policies, agent requirements, and regulatory standards.

• Monitor exceptions and reconcile discrepancies promptly, escalating issues following established procedures.

• Follow up with agents and local teams to resolve errors or missing information.

• Build, refresh, and analyze wire/payment reports using Excel (including advanced Power Query).

• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports, highlighting trends, anomalies, exceptions, and operational performance indicators.

• Identify recurring issues or inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, AML requirements, and wire transfer regulations.

• Document and escalate potential operational or financial risks in a timely manner.

• Provide support during internal and external audits, including documentation retrieval and process explanation.

• Assess wire/payment control processes to identify inefficiencies, redundant tasks, or manual work.

• Recommend automation opportunities using tools like Power Query, Power BI, Power Automate, or other workflow solutions.

• Partner with Finance Operations, Technology, and Process Excellence teams to design or implement automation enhancements.

• Contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at accuracy, speed, and operational scalability.

Qualifications & Skills
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field is preferred.

• 2–3 years of experience in payment processing, financial operations, or control/monitoring roles.

• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong communication skills in English and Spanish (written and verbal).

• Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query for data transformation.

• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

• Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools.

• Exposure to automation tools (Power Automate, Alteryx, UiPath, etc.) is a strong advantage.

• Prior experience in money transfers, remittances, banking operations, or financial control is desirable.
