AKQA is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to join our North America Headquarters team. This individual will be based in El Salvador and reports to the Financial Controller based in San Francisco.

Core Responsibilities:

• Responsible for setting the policies and procedures for the accounts payable process to ensure adherence to company policies and parent company WPP guidelines.
• Thorough understanding of WPP SOX testing guidelines for Accounts Payable. Ensure that guidelines are strictly followed without exceptions.
• Partner with Media team to ensure that media related invoices are processed and payment is made on a timely basis.
• Work closely with the AP team in SF by submitting accurate payment selection list for vendor payment and coordination of closing tasks.
• Meet deadlines for period-ends and ensure excellent accuracy of invoice posting.
• Manage accounts payable aging report, investigate and resolve aged payable item.
• Responsible for complex and high volume of vendor statement reconciliations and proactively manage vendor invoices.
• Mentor and train Accounts Payable Clerks and nurture a high performance culture within the AP team.
• Manage vendor relationship and provides excellent customer service to vendors and AKQA employees.
• Review processes and systems to streamline and reduce processing time where possible.
• Must be able to adapt to new responsibilities as business evolves.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field
• Seven or more years of progressive Accounts Payable experience
• Three or more years of leadership experience
• Ideal candidate should have experience working in a fast paced environment handling high volume of transactions
• Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software
• Working consciously with priority, without much supervision and in line with the company’s target objectives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and people skills
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skills
• Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
• Ability to work under conditions of pressure and adjust to urgent situations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word applications. Must be able to learn new accounting software quickly.
