Gathering information to assist Tier 2 in resolving host and network related issues. Interfacing with the application and database teams to assist in remediation of issues, data collection, and analysis Performing approved system patching and updates providing daily support and technical issue resolution primarily via phone, email and Service Now tickets Creating clear email and documented communications and notes for other shifts and for other engineer’s part of escalation. Ability write outage notification with varying levels of technical information that will be distributed to large audiences.
Knowledge of:
-Windows Server 2008/2012
-Linux, basic commands (sudo, top, etc.)
-Core networking (system-side)
-Core services including DNS (system-side)
-RPM/YUM packages and patching
-Basic to intermediate server troubleshooting skills
