Responsibilities:

-Design, code, test, debug, and document programs of medium to high complexity.
-Interpret system requirements and define system workflows and procedures.
-Follow a structured SDLC methodology
-Liaise with internal team members, end users and/or other departments as required
-Create test plans and test cases as well as executing unit and integration testing
-Make decisions affecting work performed
-Able to work with minimal supervision

Qualifications (Technical Knowledge and Experience):

-Java, JavaScript, XML, XSLT, Html, Strutts, Stxx, Weblogic, Web Services, Oracle Database experience, HP Non stop, COBOL, SDLC
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and understand their applicability.
- Ability to work under limited supervision.
- Ability to effectively multi-task.
- Ability to be a goal-oriented self-starter and work independently.
- Written and verbal communication skills

Education/Work Experience:

- University degree in computer science (or working towards) or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 5+ years systems development experience
- 5+ years Java development
- Group Insurance background would be an asset
