OverviewInvestment Products Risk (“IPR”) is a global organization within Independent Risk that is responsible for managing the risks associated with investment products and services that are manufactured by Citi, and/or sold to, Citi investment clients. IPR professionals are directly involved in Citi’s: (a) approval of new investment products and services, (b) risk framework for sales practices and suitability and, (c) initiatives across the globe related to evolving risks associated with Citi’s full range of businesses involved in investment products.Position: Investment Products Risk Manager – MexicoThe Investment Products Risk Manager will be based in Mexico and will report to IPR Global in New York with matrix reporting to AA&I & Pensions Risk Management.The IPR professional will act in partnership with the following businesses in Mexico: GCG Sucursales, Patrimonial, Citi Private Bank (Onshore), Banca Empresarial, Treasury, Banamex Trust Services, Corporate Bank, Asset Management, Fondos Banamex, Seguros Banamex and Afores Banamex. The Risk Manager will be responsible for providing overall independent risk management oversight of investment products and services for the above businesses including asset management and fiduciary activities. In addition, the Risk Manager will help with the implementation and monitoring of the recently adopted Disposiciones de Carácter General Aplicables a las Casas de Bolsa e Instituciones de Crédito en Materia de Servicios de Inversión (“Regulations”) which were issued by the Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores (“CNBV”) and other relevant rules / regulations pertinent to the aforementioned businesses. The Regulations seek to manage the manner and terms in which brokerage firms and credit institutions conduct their activities and offering of investment products to their clients, which include individuals and corporations.The Risk Manager will be the Chair of the Comité de Análisis de Productos Financieros (“Committee”) and participate in other relevant Risk Committees for the aforementioned businesses. As required by Regulators and Control Functions, the Risk Manager will ensure effective risk management of many client related factors which include, but are not limited to, the following:Client Assessment.Product Assessment including Product Ratings.General Framework and Investment Management.Conflicts of Interest.Disclosure in Client-Facing Materials.The professional will also interact regularly with Investment Risk Managers and other relevant Risk / Control Functions in the U.S. and Mexico to ensure consistency and best practices are being implemented.In coordination with Global IPR, AAI & Pensions and local Mexico Risk, the Risk Manager will also be involved in the following activities:Interact daily with Investment Heads, Product Managers and Product Specialists to evaluate existing and emerging risks related to the manufacturing and distribution of investment products to clients in Mexico.Lead and/or participate on cross-functional discussions to assess, evaluate, and manage risks related to the manufacturing and distribution of investment products.Support the analysis and organization of key information related to the assessment of the performance of investment products.Lead the preparation of presentations to Citi Senior Risk management, regulators and other constituents.Serve as Risk representative on the appropriate product approval committees including Fiduciary and Risk Committees.Lead the development and implementation of an independent risk framework and governance structure for Fondos Banamex, Seguros Banamex and Afores Banamex in Mexico Day-to-day oversight and monitoring; identification and escalation of issues and emerging risks.
